One of these years….

…I’ll be left alone during a storm season. This year I had to leave for 6 weeks to Colorado during April/May and Oregon in June. Last year I was deployed to the Middle East along with the previous year. This makes 3 years in a row that I have missed the majority of the storm season due to actions beyond my control. Lets see if my prestage planning works out so I can actually get some storms covered in 2011.

Back Home!

I got home last week from 6 weeks in Colorado Springs for training. I wish I could of got out and spotted there but what I seen of the road networks I didn’t like very much. Plus being right against the Rocky Mountains I was having a heck of a time predicting what was going on with the weather. I see what looked like good strong cells come across the mountains and they would build quickly and just as quickly die out. Got a few good pics but nothing fantastic. Anyways hoping these storms kick up or at least produce some lightning. I’m all about the sparks.

Tight Stream

The jet stream kept the moisture really tight as it slipped east over the country killing any chance of tornadoes being developed. The first storm weakened the storms behind when they cooled the inflow air. Plenty of smaller size hail developed but nothing really significant except a few reports of straight line winds.
