Snow Inbound!

Looks like mother nature is going to give us one more drastic swing in the weather. We went from a nice 62F down to 29F and the rain started about 7pm. Right now at 11pm snow is falling hard and accumulation is building. Amazing this is the black asphalt roads are already covered in snow.

I may have to go out fishing tomorrow for poor souls trapped in the snow if these drifts build up like last Christmas.

Take a look at the live cam I have over on the right and you can sort of make out the 20k winds and snow fall.

Storms upon us

Looks like we’re off to a good season. I was able to watch Michael Phelps transmit his journey across the panhandles of Oklahoma and into northern Texas where he made a bad call and didn’t reach his initial target destination by choice. Luckily there was a few chasers in that neck of Oklahoma and captured some excellent video of the first tornado of the season. Bart Comstock did a fantastic job filming this beautiful twister live on Severe Studios.

Here’s a few of many videos that made it to the public from many of my companions on www.stormtrack.org

More toys coming

Ordered a few goodies that should be here in a few days. Parts to rebuild my Inspeed anemometer. New dash trim for my truck so I can replace my recently damaged trim. 1/4″ acrylic dome for my camera. Then I’ll be picking up some sheet metal to build the adjustable mounting plate this next weekend.

I currently have my dash all torn up trying to clean up the wiring. Stereo is a real pain in the wiring department (really want a new stereo but no $$$ for that). I’ve been thinking of putting a small LCD monitor in my dash. I may be able to fit a 15″ in there with some minor but permanent modifications. Stinks to have all these ideals and no time or money to implement them.
